Iverson Back From Retirement - Accepts 76ers Offer




After declaring his retirement, it appears Allen Iverson has had a change of heart. Iverson notified the Philadelphia 76ers that he will in fact accept their contract offer and re-join the team where he was once the marquee player. According to ESPN:


If Iverson received the pro-rated veterans minimum, the deal would be worth $1,029,794. He could get the full veterans' minimum of $1,306,455 if the Sixers signed him with the mid-level or $1.99 million contract exception.

"In light of the recent injury to Lou Williams, which will sideline him for close to eight weeks, we felt that Allen was the best available free agent guard to help us at this time," team president Ed Stefanski said


Iverson has been traded around the league several times in recent years including stints in Denver, Detroit and most recently, Memphis.
